Why Wood

Why Wood you want anything else? Far outstripping plastic as the choice for the eco-friendly owner, the Accoya process is kind to the planet, using only acetyl acid which already occurs naturally in wood.

Timber windows and doors are without doubt the clear choice for home owners with period homes and for newer home owners who are interested in an environmentally superior product for their property.

Advances in recent years mean that timber is now an option which outstrips UPVC in terms of performance as well as excelling in terms of the aesthetic appeal. David H Wright Joinery has been producing bespoke timber doors and windows since 1989 and has invested heavily in the technology and materials to improve the longevity of their timber joinery.

In particular, the firm has embraced ACCOYA® timber to provide an unrivalled solution for quality joinery work. The sustainably sourced softwood is treated in a particular way to penetrate through to the core, providing exceptional durability and a minimum life expectancy of 60 years. It is 40% more thermally efficient than hardwood and the paint finishes last up to 12 years,

which exceeds that of conventional hardwood options. Carrying a Class 1 British Standard rating it’s resistance to rot is impressive and it shrinks and swells less than any other timber joinery in the face of British weather.

Far outstripping plastic as the choice for the eco-friendly owner, the Accoya process is kind to the planet, using only acetyl acid which /

already occurs naturally in wood. The timber is grown in sustainable forests while the treatment process is carbon neutral and completely non-toxic.
