Whether it’s to create extra living space for the family or a suitable office space to avoid trying to work at the kitchen table, more and more of us are looking for ways to extend our homes.
Extending out is one of the most popular ways of adding extra space in homes, and under permitted development laws, single story extensions or conservatories of up to 4 metres by 6 metres can be built without planning permission.
This means that home improvement projects can move along much quicker.

In this project in Upminster, Essex, we helped our client to achieve this stunning living space with a beautiful, 3 pane, Anthracite Grey, aïr Lift & Slide door, completed with modern brushed silver hardware.
The slim sightlines mean minimal interruptions, creating a stunning glazed wall, the width of the extension – a dynamic design that lets natural light beam into the property while framing the garden.
As well as looking stunning, the doors needed to offer practical functionality for the whole family. aïr doors feature weightless aïrglide technology which enables the widespan panes of glass, weighing up to 300kg, to be moved with just 2 fingers!

Impressive aesthetics, incredible performance
With a wall of glass this large, performance of your glazing is another important factor to consider. Living spaces still need to be comfortable and withstand the worst of the British weather. We offer both double and triple glazing options and the doors have U-Values as low as 0.95 W/m2K.
Security is covered too. PAS 24 accreditation and Secured by Design upgrade options mean that homes are kept completely safe from unwanted visitors.
Design options
Glazing also needs to work around how you
use your living space. The correct door size and opening configurations will make the world of difference to the functionality of a home. aïr Lift & Slide doors are available in 1 to 6 pane configurations, with single, double or triple track options, so the design options are boundless.
Sashes can be up to 2.5 metres wide and 2.7 metres tall, and interlock sightlines are a super slim 48mm, creating a truly impressive glazing feature that maximises glazed areas.
