Snowdrop Cottage was built in the 1840’s by the gentleman who owned the local village brewery. After being fitted with plain uPVC windows for decades, Bereco performed a full removal, replacement & finishing service.

It is once again graced with timber casement windows featuring beautiful Gothic bars on its front porch way, preserving its traditional 1840’s charm and enhancing its period aesthetic. When Kay and Graham purchased the cottage in 2021, they began a thoughtful renovation project that honoured the property’s history.

Seeking an authentic look true to the cottage’s heritage by choosing Bereco Flush Casements, they selected Parlour NCS S 1005-Y20 for the exterior, which harmonises beautifully with the natural Bath stone exterior, while Traffic White RAL 9016 was used inside to provide a fresh, clean finish.

For the window handles, Kay and Graham chose Antique Black Monkey Tail handles, inspired by those found in the neighbouring pub, lending a fitting, authentic touch.

This choice also complimented the Barrington Black Bulb End handle on the door, creating a cohesive aesthetic throughout.

The porch features a fully glazed Single-Leaf Door alongside a fixed Flush Casement, both showcasing an elegant Gothic bar design that enhances the cottage’s period charm. Other windows incorporate 25mm Ovolo bar, styled in cottage or Georgian bar patterns based on the window height.

Kay and Graham are delighted that both the appearance and functionality of their new door and windows were brought to life exactly as they had envisioned.

The warmth of their cottage has noticeably improved, thanks to the excellent thermal performance of their new Bereco timber windows.

From the initial consultations with our Design Consultants through to the guidance provided by their dedicated Project Manager they found our process smooth and straightforward. They mentioned how friendly and approachable Bereco staff are, always on hand to help or assist.

Kay particularly praised our superb installation team for their professionalism and organised, respectful approach throughout the process.

The Bereco installation team are timber window and door fitting experts, offering the highest standards of fitting and finish to match the quality of our premium timber windows and doors. This ensures that they perform to their maximum potential and lifespan.

Looking forward, the homeowners plan to work with an architect to open up the kitchen and hope to replace additional windows as they continue with their thoughtful renovation.
