Kolorseal Helps Homeowners To Realise Their Dreams In Colour
When it comes to personalising a home, nothing quite beats an inspiring colour that is consistent across the entire exterior of the property. Colour coating products for the outside of a home is extremely involved with far more focus needed than any interior design project.
On this striking renovation, Kolorseal’s customer was commissioned by the homeowner to manufacture all windows, doors, fascias and rainwater products in a stunning sage green – RAL 7009.
For Kolorseal this also meant colour coating the interior of the window and door frames in Farrow and Ball, Old White before delivering them to the installer. Dual colour coating is very popular today in both new build and renovation projects.
The homeowner wished to truly individualise the appearance of the house with a unique, matching overall look that no-one else had.
Careful consideration was given to the existing aesthetic of the exterior as well as any accents or garden design that needed to be evaluated.
On this project the colour scheme complements all the underlying tones of the neutrals in and around the home, giving it an attractive balance.
Deborah Hendry, Managing Director, Kolorseal Ltd comments,
“When making changes to the exterior colour of any home, it is not just you that it affects. Those decisions also affect the neighbourhood. Colour coordination is essential to keep the property attractive while considering the surroundings.”
In some locations it is possible there could be colour restrictions particularly in areas of natural beauty or on a listed building. Yet with a little creativity individualising a home can still be achieved.
Deborah continues, “Where there are limitations regarding colour people can still be creative to make their home stand out. Many in this situation use the paler palettes which enables them to choose from shades that will blend into the surrounding area and restricted environments. This is what can truly add value.
People are always surprised that it is possible to colour match window frames with soffits, guttering and rainwater pipes before they are fitted.”
Matching all products on the exterior gives a feeling of consistency with this type of unity bringing a striking look that is appealing and brings a return on investment to a home.
Trending colours are not necessarily the way that everyone wants to follow or indeed should follow. It is always best to talk to the installers, builders and fabricators, with purchase on impulse never advised.
Before the colour decision was made on this specific property, the owners evaluated at different times of the day, in different lights. The sun’s effect had different effects across all areas of the house.
Deborah explains, “Knowing how much light a property receives will guide home owners on the perfect shade for each individual property.
The owners here adhered to the architectural style of this house which helped them to make the right colour choice. It is always advisable to consider how a building will look all year round.”
For homeowners considering renovating the outside of their homes then colours can emphasise or diminish features. Lighter colours tend to make features of a property stand out, whereas darker tones will make them less apparent.
Deborah concludes, “This stunning project demonstrates how colour can completely transform a home. When any project is completed it should make the homeowner step back and admire the beautiful new appearance with a sense of pride. It will feel like a completely new property.”
Being able to match all window, door, soffit and rainwater products is proving a popular choice currently with homeowners.
